Standards for BCS-SCFStandards for Board Certification in Stuttering, Cluttering, and Fluency Disorders are outlined in the Standards and Procedures Manual. These standards apply to all new applicants as of January 1, 2014. On January 1, 2014, the Specialty Recognition Program for Fluency and Fluency Disorders transitioned to a Specialty Certification Program. Speech-language pathologists previously recognized as fluency specialists (BRS-FD) were grandfathered into the new certification program (BCS-F). In 2023, the Board’s name changed to the American Board of Stuttering, Cluttering, and Fluency Disorders, and all current and future specialists now use the credential Board Certified Specialist – Stuttering, Cluttering, and Fluency Disorders (BCS-SCF). |
