Intellectual Property Policy
The American Board of Specialty Certification in Stuttering, Cluttering, and Fluency Disorders (ABSCF) respects and upholds the intellectual property rights of all content creators and complies with applicable copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws and regulations.
Ownership and Rights
All educational materials, presentations, handouts, recordings, and related resources developed for ABSCF continuing education activities are the intellectual property of the original creator(s) unless otherwise assigned in writing. Presenters, authors, and content contributors retain ownership of their work, except in cases where a written agreement transfers rights to ABSCF.
Use and Distribution
Materials provided as part of ABSCF continuing education courses may be used by participants for personal educational purposes. Reproduction, distribution, or public sharing of these materials outside the intended course audience is prohibited unless expressly authorized by the content owner.
Content Submitted by Presenters
Presenters and course developers must confirm that all materials they submit:
Presenters warrant that they have obtained any required permissions or licenses for copyrighted materials included in their submissions.
Reporting Concerns
If ABSCF receives a claim of alleged infringement or intellectual property violation, the organization will promptly investigate and take appropriate action. This may include removing or restricting access to contested materials, notifying the content creator, or seeking legal guidance as necessary.
Compliance and Enforcement
Violation of this policy may result in removal of materials, denial of continuing education credit, and/or restrictions on future participation as an ABSCF provider or presenter.
Policy Review
This Intellectual Property Policy is reviewed annually or as needed to ensure continued compliance with relevant laws, ASHA requirements, and ethical standards.
