CE Course Video Playback Tips

There are several issues that may affect streaming of your online CE videos. First, please make sure that you are running the most up to date version of your browser.  Older versions may increase the chance of poor video quality. 

Below are additional tips for better quality video playback: 

Why is video playback so choppy?

If your video playback isn’t smooth as margarine, here are some things you can try:
  • Try letting the video buffer before you view it.
  • Close other browser tabs and windows. This can make a huge difference!
  • Make sure you have either the latest version of Flash running on your computer, or use a browser with native HTML5 support.
  • Switch to another browser to see if that helps.

What is video buffering, and how do I do it?

Buffering is a way of pre-loading the videos you watch so that fluctuations in your Internet connection don't cause choppy playback.

When you play a video, a light gray bar will advance in front of the playhead, showing you how much of your video has been buffered. Your playback should be smooth as long as you're viewing your video within the light gray buffer region.

If you're experiencing choppy playback, pause the video, allow the video to buffer for a few moments, then try playing your video again!

Refund and Cancellation Policy

If a continuing education program is cancelled by American Board of Fluency and Fluency Disorders before the paid participant has accessed the program at, they will receive a full refund of their subscription fees. Once a participant has accessed a web-based recorded program at, no refund will be made. Participants cancelling their subscription to a web-based recorded program will receive a 75% refund of their registration fee if cancellation occurs before the participant has accessed the program at  


Complaint Policy

Participants wishing to register a complaint due to dissatisfaction with continuing education programs or services provided by the ABFFD, should contact the ABFFD business administrator at the following address, indicating the nature of the complaint, the continuing education program about which the complaint is based, the date and time of the issue giving rise to the complaint, and any other pertinent information about the complaint.  The ABFFD CE Coordinator will respond in writing to complaints within 7 days of receipt by the ABFFD business office.  Determinations regarding appropriateness of refunds based on complaints will be made by the CE Coordinator in consultation with the ABFFD Chair.

Technical issues associated with participants attempting to access to ABFFD web-based programming that result in complaints, will be addressed immediately by the CE administrator and webmaster, in an effort to resolve the complaint to the satisfaction of the participant.  If a technical issue cannot be resolved, a full refund will be made.
