Nola Radford earned her doctorate from the University of Memphis. She completed a post-doctorate through the University of Virgnia (Center on Minority Research in Special Education) with emphasis on improving intervention for children who stutter. Her mentor for the postdoctorate was Dr. Elisabeth Wiig, who remains a prolific contributor to the field of speech-language pathology, particularly in the area of diagnostic instruments for the diagnosis of language problems in children. She has more than 30 years of experience as a speech-language pathologist. Since the 1990s, she has been involved in establishing specialty clinics for children with language and fluency problems, with university service in Arkansas, Missouri, Texas, and Mississippi.
Social/Volunteer Organizations
WIth her husband, she worked for three years (2012-2015) providing outreach in the local community, with emphasis on neighborhood relations and peer relations among children through their nonprofit organization Neighbor to Neighbor Community Services, which was dissolved in 2017 after the family relocated.

Dr. Radford published Smooth Talking: A Curriculum for School-age Children who Stutter in 2010 through Plural Publishing. She remains committed to study and preparation for provision of services to school-age children who stutter.
She collaborates with clinicians proficient in Spanish for provision of services to Spanish-speaking children who stutter.
