Since 1972, I have clinically served, trained future clinicians, taught courses and conducted research regarding stuttering, with particular reference to preschool-age children and their families. Besides the BCS-FD, I hold the CCC-SLP from the American Speech, Language and Hearing Association as well as North Carolina State Licensure (Lic. # 10223).

During this 40+ years of experience I worked at Syracuse University (1972-1997) and Vanderbilt University (1997-2013)

Currently, I am Professor Emeritus, Dept. Hearing and Speech Sciences, Vanderbilt University and reside in Asheville, NC 28804-3529
Social/Volunteer Organizations
I am a Fellow (1991) and Honoree (2007), American Speech, Language and Hearing Association as well as a Frank R. Kleffner Career Awardee (2005) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Foundation and Malcolm Fraser Awardee (2003) from the Stuttering Foundation of America.

Currently, I am a Senior Specialist, Fulbright Specialist Program, having received a Fulbright award to advise, consult, instruct, and further clinical services for people who stutter in Bulgaria.
