CONTINUING EDUCATION

In order to maintain Board Recognized Fluency Specialist status, specialists need to complete a minimum of 4.5 (45 hours) continuing education units (CEUs) over a three year period. At least 75% of these activities should be in fluency, fluency disorders or related areas such as genetics, brain imaging, or counseling. The remaining hours may be in other domains of speech-language pathology. Specialists are asked to keep careful track of these activities, expecially if they are not ASHA-approved continuing education activities, so that they may be documented.

This website will provide updated information twice per year on continuing education opportunities that meet Board guidelines.
